Endodontic Services
Our Endodontic Specialist
Originally from California, Dr. Ali Forghani attended California State University, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry. He attended the New York University College of Dentistry, where he received his DDS degree and also completed advanced training in endodontic care.
At Dental Specialists of Bridgewater, our primary goal is to save your natural teeth whenever possible. We offer high quality, compassionate endodontic care in comfortable, modern office environment. Endodontics is commonly referred to as root canal therapy and includes treatments of diseases of pulp and surrounding tissues of a tooth.
Root Canal Treatment
With its reputation as being one of the most painful and complex treatments possible, “root canal” is a phrase no one wants to hear from their dentist. Modern technology and techniques have helped, and root canal surgery is now a straightforward, relatively painless procedure that can save your affected tooth.
Endodontic or Apical Surgery
During endodontic surgery, also known as an apical surgery, we will remove an infected root tip along with any surrounding tissues that may be also be infected.
Cracked Teeth
Symptoms of a cracked tooth vary and may include pain when chewing, temperature sensitivity, pressure sensitivity or a combination of these.
Endodontic Retreatment
Occasionally, a tooth that was treated months or years ago may develop new problems. In these cases, a tooth that previously received endodontic treatment fails to heal or continues to have pain. We may try to save the tooth with a second endodontic procedure.
Dental Trauma
Traumatic injuries can result in the need for dental treatment. Fractured or cracked teeth, a displaced tooth, or even a tooth that has been knocked out (avulsed) are common results of dental trauma.
Regenerative Endodontics
Regenerative endodontics uses biologically-based tissue engineering to restore tooth canals of immature permanent teeth to a healthy state. Regenerative endodontic treatment involves replacing damaged pulp tissue in the tooth root with healthy tissue than can allow for continued development of the tooth root and surrounding tissue. Regenerative endodontic treatment is a potential alternative to a root canal procedure, which does not allow for continued development.
